As Vice President for Student Life and Enrollment, Nathan Fuerst serves as the Chief Enrollment Officer and the Chief Student Affairs Officer at the University of Connecticut.
In May 2018, Nathan was appointed Vice President for Enrollment Planning and Management. Prior to that, he held positions as the Assistant Vice President for Enrollment and the Director of Undergraduate Admissions. In August 2023, Nathan's role was expanded to include key areas of Student Affairs.
The Vice President for Student Life and Enrollment is responsible for overseeing various programs across all UConn campuses, including Storrs, Avery Point, Farmington (UConn Health), Hartford, Stamford, and Waterbury. The Vice President and the Student Life and Enrollment Leadership Team offer strategic direction and assessment for enrollment and student life programs, utilizing a holistic, evidence-based, and data-informed approach.
During his tenure at UConn, Vice President Fuerst has led significant growth in the size, quality, and diversity of our undergraduate student enrollment, consistently breaking records and setting new milestones for enrollment each year. UConn students have achieved new records for student success, particularly in retention and graduation rates, solidifying UConn's position as one of the top universities in the country for student success.
The Vice President’s impact extends beyond his roles, as he actively participates in university-wide committees and task forces, fostering collaborations and partnerships across the institution with a steadfast focus on placing students at the center of our efforts.
