SEM Advisory Committees
Three advisory committees will support the SEM planning process, each focused on a key area of enrollment and student success.
The Recruitment Advisory Committee will develop strategies to improve student recruitment at the Storrs and regional campuses, focusing on barriers and metrics. The Retention Advisory Committee aims to enhance student retention by identifying opportunities and addressing obstacles to student retention. The Workforce Advisory Committee will explore barriers and opportunities related to the state’s workforce needs and enhance career readiness.
SEM Plan Recruitment Advisory Committee
This committee is charged with determining opportunities, establishing tactical strategies as well as metrics, and identifying barriers related to the recruitment of students to Storrs and our regional campuses. The members of this committee will communicate across their respective units with information related to the committee’s activities, seek input from the appropriate university stakeholders, and then make final recommendations to the Steering Committee.

This committee is charged with looking more broadly at the barriers and opportunities related to meeting the state's workforce and career readiness needs through environmental scanning. This includes reviewing student and employee behavior and engagement along with policies that influence behavior and engagement. The members of this committee will communicate across their respective units with information related to the committee’s activities, seek input from the appropriate university stakeholders, and then make final recommendations to the Steering Committee.
